Its amazing what can happen in a few weeks. While we were busy with our 10 new residents, something amazing happened outside. Those triple digit temperatures haven’t been much fun but the dry weather did mean that major progress could be made in the exhibit.
Here’s the exhibit in June
And here’s a photo I took today

WOW! Wow wow wow. That is probably one of the MOST dramatic before and after photos I’ve seen in such a short time. This African Forest is going to be AMAZING!! I can’t wait to see such a large group of chimps, and ones that know each other so well. I think it will be an exhibit I return to again and again — there could be endless hours spent watching them in an environment as realistic as this.
Thanks Rock – its amazing what got done in such a short time and there is still more to do.
I agree with everything Rock wrote in the comment above. This exhibit looks like it will provide a wonderful area for the chimps and will be a place that will provide humans with endless hours of fascination.
Thanks Merry – I predict the chimps will be a favorite at the zoo!
Amazing! it looks great!
Thanks Kelly!
Hey question Hollie,
Is the final version of the chimp exhibit going to be grassy and plains like as seen in the pictures, similar to the Fort Worth exhibit, or will it be lush and forested similar to the Dallas exhibit?
Thank you!
What a beautiful exhibit – our chimps are going to love their spacious new home.
I actually haven’t seen any of the new African Forest exhibits yet, except from a distance and over the construction fence. This is breath-taking. Exciting stuff. Thanks for sharing and tell the chimps I say hello!
