Just as things are settling down from the birth of Baylor, the Elephant team is ready to go through the entire process of preparing for a birth all over again. Baylor is healthy, eating well, growing, and integrated into the herd. So, now we have to now shift our focus to Tess and start preparing for her calf. 24-hour birth watch for Tess’ calf started up on August 11. Once again, a large group of volunteers are helping the team monitor Tess. Regular ultrasound procedures have started and daily progesterone monitoring starts this week. We are happy to report that Tess is doing great and very healthy!
